Noah built a boat, an object that was unmatched in size or structure until the 1900’s for a “rain” that he had never seen. I think so many times how God asks us so often to “build our boats for the rain.” He asks us to step out of the logical and trust Him in faith. I have been in that season of life for sometime now the season of Him preparing me for whats next , and everyday that I trust, everyday that I strive and fall or stumble, every frustration, every heart ache I know will bring that which is best for me to bring Him glory. I dont know what your boat is going to save you from or lead you to but I do know that it is worth building. I do know that He is worth trusting. I do know that His love is unfailing. I believe that His provision is unmatched. I believe that He is worth trusting. I know that His love is worth sharing.

i almost forgot…

that i even had a blog.. no just kidding. actually i have been quite the traveling guy for the past month. between chicago, san fran, and nashville.  God is doing a great deal of wisdom training in my life at it’s current point. Something I have to say I am grateful for at moments and frustrated with all at the same time. The funny thing though is with everything going on or not going on in my life I am completely content and happy. I know God is going to bring answers in His time and will and I am just trying to patiently wait on His voice and direction. As to where I am going to end up.. I dont have an answer yet as I am still seeking God’s voice in it all.  I am going to enjoy today and await tomorrow with joy!  I have had a blast these past couple of weeks. Getting to spend time with friends and churches in new places. I promise to not take so long to post next time. Until then this picture explains it all…

 

what if…

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and wonder “what if?” In fact most mornings I ponder that question.  To be honest its a null question as I don’t have the answer and I can only speculate. Each day is a new day and a new chance. I need to look forward not backward.  My prayer recently is “God give me the courage to take on today, prepare for tomorrow, love everyone and find joy in everything.” So far I’m not doing so swell.

LIFE

First of all let me tell you life is hectic right now. It is teaching me dependance. Getting up everyday praying “God i need You!”  Its one of the best feelings in the world as well as one of the most trying ones. Dependance is a task which we all say we want but to be honest no one is quick to run to including myself. I am learning its all in His hands and on His plate and I must wait for him to distribute or say ,”wait.” Its a good place to be though.  In other news I am officially playing a divided by 13 and redoing my pedal board setup. Nehemiah…. IS THE FREAKING MAN! That dude has no fear except the fear of the Lord! I just love reading about Nehemiah. Every year when I get to this portion I start getting antsy like a kid before Christmas. Every year I walk away with a new sense of leadership response and responsibility.

Are You Kidding Me?

I have been reading Hosea. The gist of it is God was trying to prove a point about His love. That point is God is ALL we need, and ALL we should want. He went to Hosea and told him to take a prostitute for a wife. I can only imagine how that conversation went…. I know how that conversation would have gone with me… it would have ended with me making some smart ass comment then remembering how i am a MAN and having to repent… (several days and lessons later) God wanted to make a statement to a nation that although they had whored themselves out for their own desires God would still love them and pay the price for their sin and ask them to faithfully return to Him. What astounds me is not God asking but Hosea obeying. That has to be one of the hardest things to ever understand. God wanting him to marry a woman that has and will continue to be faithful to him and then buy her back from another man with his hard earned money. I think it sounds crazy although with God he asks the what seems humanly impossible to prove that through faith and obedience the impossible is merely a myth for nothing is impossible for him. Its a single word “dependency” with the most complex of implications. I also believe that we are to love as God loves. God unconditionally loves us and grants us forgiveness for our short comings, how should we compare our sins and say “I should have to” or “I haven’t ever.” Forgiveness as I am learning is look at everyone as God would and love them because He loves them. Humble yourself before them and walk beside them as a support not only when they fall but for you as you fall. Finally I believe God asks us to do things to remind us that HE and HE alone is our desire. I fail so many times in this. “God I want” or “God I need” or “God is you could just…” I as I said in the last post have been reading “IT” and am learning that to have “it” I need to rid myself of all that isn’t conducive to being 100% God focused. I have a lot to remove to find that first love again. I named this “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” the answer is “NO, ADAM, I AM NOT YOU ONLY NEED ME – LOVE, GOD” 

From Everlasting to Everlasting.

Let me say, this month has been rough. Although rough I have absolutely felt God holding me. I am in the midst of a great portion of change in my life, I have lost family that I dearly loved, life goes on though. I am learning that God asks us to press on for a reason, that His glory might be shown through it. I want more than anything for God to be evident in my life. God has always given me comfort through reading and listening to music. So I am really loving this record:They have “it.” Speaking of “it” I have been reading a book called just that, “it.” Its a book by Life Church’s pastor, Craig Groeschel.  This book is pretty cool. You should check it out. Here’s what “it” looks like. Most importantly I have had the opportunity to spend some real quality time with God. It has really shaped my heart in ways I am still trying to understand. I have been eager every morning to meet with Him in His Word and prayer. It’s been a true renewal. I am reading through the Psalms right now and finding comfort in the psalmist’s loss for words, search for God and reverence even in anger. I can relate.
